The Bak-Pak 2R skimmer is designed for use on reef tanks where biological filtration is not necessary, but still incorporates all of the other features that are present in the Bak-Pak. The Cyclone BAK-PAK 2 Bio-Filter is the second generation external, hang on the back, combination protein skimmer and biological filtration unit from CPR. The Bak-Pak 2, like the original, is designed for tank sizes up to 60 gallons/272 litres, but multiple units may be used for larger aquariums. Water first enters the protein skimmer column from the aquarium. It then flows through the biological chamber filled with Bio-Bale filtration media before returning to the aquarium. The protein skimmer is driven by a Rio 600 with the "Rejuvenation System" modification which mixes air and water before it is drawn through the impeller and broken up into tiny bubbles. Bubble dwell time is increased by the counter-current flow in the skimmer column. The quality of the foam collected can be controlled by raising and lowering the collection cup. To set up the Bak-Pak 2, hang the unit behind the aquarium and plug it in - that's it! New improved design incorporates an easy to clean intake tube and an enclosed, directional outflow to reduce salt splash and micro-bubbles entering into tank. Bak-Pak 2 Surface Skimmer The Bak-Pak Pre-Skimmer fits around the powerhead and skims water from the surface of the aquarium where wastes accumulate. The Pre-Skimmer makes the Bak-Pak even more efficient BPBT
Bak-Pak 2 Bubble Trap The Bak-Pak Bubble Trap is perfect when using the Berlin Method. Simply remove the Bio-Bale, insert the Bubble Trap and tighten the screw to completely eliminate bubbles escaping back into your aquarium. Cannot be used with the Bak-Pak 2R.

The CITR In-Tank Refugium is a "safe house" that provides a protected area to help newly added fish or invertebrates easily acclimate to a new tank while also providing a place for injured fish or corals to regenerate damaged tissue without the need for a separate quarantine tank. The CITR also functions as a culturing area for small organisms that are intended to be provided as a food source for the inhabitants of the main portion of the tank. Included with the CITR is a Rio 50 Powerhead that provides the necessary circulation to keep fresh water moving through the CITR at all times. A built-in overflow is the most efficient method of draining aquarium water to a filter.
