Tropic Marin Bio-Calcium

All calcareous animals, especially corals, need calcium to grow and flourish. However, the growth rate of corals depends mostly on the algae that live symbiotically within them as this algae uses carbon dioxide (obtained from certain calcium compounds present in natural sea water) during photosynthesis, making the calcium freely available for the coral to absorb. Only when calcium and carbon dioxide are available together can this symbiotic relationship work, and Tropic Marin Bio-Calcium is the ideal source of both.

Bio-Strontium & Bio-Magnesium

The ongoing growth and health of stony corals is as directly linked to a continued supply of magnesium and strontium as it is to the supply of biologically available calcium. Both the absolute concentrations and the concentrations of these elements relative to each other change rapidly in the reef aquarium. This is due to the absorption of these elements for the stony skeletal structure of the corals and also due to natural precipitation.

Just as Bio-Calcium has been proven to supply the most natural, biologically available form of calcium to marine aquaria for years, Tropic Marin's new Bio-Magnesium and Bio-Strontium do the same for magnesium and strontium respectively.

Elimi-Aiptas

For the removal of Aiptasia anemones and other unwanted cnidarians.

Aiptasia anemones arrive in the aquarium on live rock or newly purchased corals. Once in the aquarium they spread quickly and are difficult to remove mechanically. Corals and other sessile inhabitants get stung and killed by these pest anemones. For this reason, it is important to control them early with Tropic Marin Elimi-Aiptas.

Tropic Marin Elimi-Aiptas is effective against Aiptasia anemones and other unwanted cnidarians. It is easy to inject into the Aiptasia anemone at its base with the included syringe. Elimi-Aiptas is quick and reliable with no effect on water chemistry.

Pro-Coral Cure

Iodine preparation to treat parasitic and microbial diseases of corals.

In many aquariums, parasites and microbial diseases can appear on new corals, especially Acropora corals, that are weakened and stressed by transport. Due to the lack of natural enemies, these parasites and diseases propagate and spread quickly in the aquarium. Since they are almost invisible to the naked eye the parasites are only noticed when damage is already substantial.

Therefore it is recommended to preventively treat all newly purchased Acropora corals with Pro-Coral Cure and to apply Pro-Coral Cure to all corals which have been attacked by flatworms, other parasitic sea spiders (Pantopoda) and microbial diseases. Treatment is carried out by means of a 10-15 minute bath.

Elimi-Phos

For the effective removal of phosphates in saltwater and freshwater aquaria.

High levels of phosphates and organic pollutants promote unwanted algae growth and compromise the health of aquarium inhabitants. Tropic Marin Elimi-Phos is a very effective way to remove both phosphates and organic pollutants from saltwater and freshwater aquariums.

In addition to the effective removal of phosphates, Tropic Marin Elimi-Phos takes the place of activated charcoal and will improve the general water quality in an aquarium. Phosphates become so strongly bonded to the Elimi-Phos granules that they will never be released, even after the full absorption capacity of the Elimi-Phos is reached.

Many phosphate removers are iron-based and, over time, iron-based granules can clump together, potentially reducing flow. Iron is also known to be used as a nutrient by micro-organisms, including bacteria associated with disease outbreaks in aquariums.

Elimi-Phos is aluminium-based which means its granules do not clump together and will remain porous allowing water to always pass through, and in addition will not promote bacterial growth.

Pro-Coral Iodine

Lugol's Solution for saltwater aquaria.

Of all the trace elements found in natural sea water, Iodine is associated with the widest range of effects. Iodine prevents goitre as an important component of the thyroid hormone.

It is also essential for the hardening of the chitinous shell of crustaceans. Corallinaceous red algae deposit iodine in surface structures and gorgonias deposit it in the axial skeleton. Experiments clearly show, Pro-Coral Iodine improves the adaptation to light and the colouring of anthozoa, especially of hard corals.

Due to its unstable nature in solution, iodine should be added to a marine aquarium on a regular basis. Pro-Coral Iodine contains iodine in its most effective form, as elementary I2.

Pro-Coral Mineral

Crystallized trace elements for the strengthening of all invertebrates.

Tropic Marin Pro-Coral Mineral contains all the trace elements found in natural seawater, including iodine and strontium, in Tropic Marin's proven combination.

Pro-Coral Mineral's crystalline form makes it possible to offer a much higher trace element concentration than in a liquid additive, without the need for chelates, phosphates or nitrates. In this way, the aquarium inhabitants gain the full benefit of these essential minerals resulting in enhanced growth, colouration and robustness.

Pro-Coral Organic

Reduces phosphate levels, promotes growth of anthozoa and optimises nutrient balance.

Phosphates accumulate quickly in marine aquariums and are responsible for some of the most destructive effects of all nutrients. In addition to encouraging unwanted algae growth, phosphates slow the skeletal growth of stony corals. Tropic Marin Pro-Coral Organic supplies readily available nitrogen compounds and balances nutrient levels. Just like in the ocean, when sufficient trace elements are present, anthozoans will absorb nitrogen and phosphates. This results in a reduction of the phosphates with no rise in the nitrate level. The magnesium content of Pro-Coral Organic also aids in the reduction of any excess phosphate level.

With regular additions of Pro-Coral Organic anthozoan growth is visibly increased, especially among leather corals and anemones. Stony corals show deeper coloration and increased fluorescent pigmentation. The skeletal structure of the colonies grows stronger and develops in a pattern that more closely mimics their natural development in the wild. The polyps of Anthozoa become more engorged and open, and the animals develop increased resistance to changes in water quality.

To prevent phosphate buildup before it develops, use lower doses of Pro-Coral Organic and maintain optimum water chemistry.

Pro-Special Mineral

Sodium chloride (NaCl) free seasalt for applications in fresh and saltwater aquaria.

For use in fresh water:

• Promotes health and fish growth.

• Protects against diseases and physical deformations.

In the closed system of fresh water tanks, the concentration of minerals and trace elements is quickly depleted, which leads to deficiency diseases and physical deformations.

Pro-Discus Mineral

For the treatment of reverse osmosis water and tap water.

Minerals for water of reverse osmosis and for soft tap water.

Reverse osmosis water is often used to replace evaporated water of the aquarium. However, reverse osmosis not only removes harmful substances but also valuable minerals.

With Tropic Marin's Re-Mineral Marine the water of reverse osmosis gets back all its beneficial natural minerals and substances. At the same time the alkalinity is raised and stabilised. Kalkwasser, for example, only adds calcium, whereas Tropic Marin's Re-Mineral Marine provides all trace elements and minerals in the natural composition of the sea.
