TMC Swirl Filters

These fibreglass filters separate waste from the water utilising natural centrifugal forces. Return water from the fish tanks is gravity fed into the filter, where it is forced to rotate inside it, thereby concentrating uneaten food and other waste particles. This accumulation of waste products can then be periodically flushed away. This filter will operate best at flow rates not exceeding 10m3/hr. The lack of mechanical parts makes this filter an attractive option. The outlet can be positioned in the orientation that best suits the application.

Screen Filters

screen filters

Screen Filters utilise hundreds of razor sharp stainless steel profile wires arranged close together in a curved screen. Waste water enters at the top of the filter unit and is allowed to run down the face of the screen. The water is able to pass through the gaps between the filter elements, but any particles bigger than the gaps are retained. Because of the curved shape of the filter screen, the filtered waste products fall to the base of the screen where they accumulate. These can be washed to waste via the 2" waste outlet.

Screen filters have two advantages over other other mechanical filters in that they have no moving parts, and solid wastes are removed from the water body immediately, before they can be broken down further into dissolved organics, further polluting the water.

Two screen sizes available (200 & 300 µm).

Drum Filters/Disc Filters

Mechanical, self cleaning filter specially designed for the removal of soft and organic particles.

These filters are made of stainless steel (304SS or 316SS). Filter material is polyester or 316SS with screens from 10 microns and capacities up to 1000 l/sec.

A range of drum/disc filters are available - please ask for details.
