TMC Commercial UV Sterilisers

TMC Commercial UV Sterillisers

All Tropical Marine Centre UV Sterilisers feature:-

Individually chambered lamps for optimum efficiency and contact time, even for saltwater applications where UV absorption is far higher than in freshwater.

Fused quartz glass sleeves which ensure that germicidal lamps are able to reach their optimum 'burn temperature' where the highest amount of UVc radiation is emitted. Also facilitates simple lamp replacement by keeping lamp separate from the system water.

improved design

Constructed from exclusively and specially formulated UL1018 PVC compound, designed by Tropical Marine Centre for its ultra-low toxicity and high UV resistance properties. Can be used in the most demanding hatcheries and larval rearing facilities with absolute confidence.

Used widely around the world including in Tropical Marine Centre’s own commercial marine ornamental fish and invertebrate hatchery.

No significant pressure drop.

New-design control gear allowing for simple replacement.

Technical Facts

To achieve desirable levels of sterilisation the total volume of a system needs to be turned over regularly through the steriliser. The following recommendations should be adhered to and used in conjunction with the application level table.

Shell fish depuration tanks: Minimum 3 x per hour, recommended 5 x per hour (Sea Fish Industry Authority Recommendation)

Marine/freshwater ornamental: Minimum 4 x per hour, recommended 7x per hour

Public display: Minimum 2 x per hour, recommended 3-5 x per hour

Larger units can be manufactured on request. For smaller applications, our V2ecton UV Sterilisers can be used. The pressure drop in UVs is less than 2psi in all our units. All our UVs are designed to operate indoors/covered (not below freezing point).

IMPORTANT

Each TMC Commercial UV Steriliser uses a high frequency control gear, which should ideally be operated on its own power supply circuit. If this is not possible then it is important that the UV steriliser is not installed on a circuit that may be susceptible to induced loads that lead to high energy surges (spikes), as these high energy surges will damage the uv control gear.

Examples of equipment that could potentially cause high energy surges or spikes are: most large electric motors including some water pumps and light fittings with igniters, such as floodlights.

High frequency control gears should not be operated on the same power circuit as traditional magnetic ballasts.
