TMC Hatchery
The TMC hatchery was originally designed and built for the production of tank reared anemonefish, and neon gobies. Unlike any other tropical marine fish hatchery TMC raises its animals in a totally synthetic environment. High quality fresh water is extracted 60m below ground via a borehole and mixed with Tropic Marin Synthetic Sea Salt to give a high quality disease free seawater alternative. Clean seawater is then added as required to our re-circulation systems, which employ the use of aquaculture’s latest technology, as detailed below.
Ultraviolet sterilisation unitsBuilt on site, these units are designed to reduce the risk of potential bacterial and protozoan infections that could be harmful to the fish. Fluidised sand technology
Also designed and built on site, fluid sand towers biologically cleanse the water of nitrogenous waste. More efficient than conventional biological filtration systems these units will support a significantly greater bio-mass, contributing to increases in production. Foam fractionation
These units, also known as protein skimmers, are used simultaneously with ozone injection and remove accumulating harmful dissolved organic bi-products, produced from thousands of rapidly growing fish. |
