Pro Pond Fluid Bed Filters

Pro Pond Fluid Bed Filters (FBFs) utilise the most efficient method of aerobic biological filtration available. Process water is pumped into the filter at the base of the unit "fluidising" the media and providing a very high water to media contact area. The specially designed media diffuser bowl, in conjunction with the accurately graded filter media, ensures that the Pro Pond Fluid Bed Filter fluidises uniformly at a minimum water pressure. This fluidising process utilises the water flow and high surface area of the media to provide efficient biological filtration. Filtered water leaves, under gravity, at the top of the unit and discharges back into the pond or filtration system.

Pro Pond Fluid Bed Filters are low cost, maintenance free units designed specifically for the professional pond and koi keeper.

They offer all the unique features of our commercial units including low head start up and diffuser bowl.

Pro Pond FBF units are fitted with an anti-siphon device, preventing the oolitic aragonite media from back-siphoning into the supply pipework when the water supply pump is turned off.

They should be used in conjunction with other filtration elements to create a well-balanced filtration package. Unlike aquaculture, koi pond filtration is based on high water volume to bio-mass ratios.

Supplied with graded oolitic aragonite media.
